Monster Hunter Wilds Xbox Performance Targets Confirmed

Monster Hunter Wilds has revealed the performance target details for Xbox. With many fans worrying that Xbox Series X/S could have problems running Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom has released a statement regarding how the game will run on the two consoles. This is a general concern for Xbox players, as the demo for Monster Hunter Wilds received a mixed reception.

Early reviews of mid-August’s Monster Hunter Wilds demo were concerning, as the game’s frame rate was spotty at best. While that demo was considered playable on PlayStation 5, the game is expected to perform similarly on both platforms. Many who played the demo mentioned that it didn’t feel like the title was locked in at the 60 frames-per-second target. Others believed that the maximum was 30 FPS at the time. However, some concerns can be put to rest as Capcom has confirmed the performance targets for Xbox Series X/S users.

Monster Hunter‘s Twitter shared the performance targets for all platforms. Specifically, Xbox Series X users will have access to two modes; Prioritize Graphics and Prioritize Framerate. Both modes will have an output resolution of 3840 x 2160. However, Prioritize Graphics will have a rendering resolution of 3072 x 1728 and will run at 30 FPS, while Prioritize Framerate will render at 1920 x 1080 but will play at 60 FPS. This should give answers to those who were concerned about how the game will play once Monster Hunter Wilds comes out on February 2025.

Monster Hunter Wilds Performance Targets For All Platforms

  • PlayStation 5 Prioritize Graphics – (3840 x 2160 Output / 3072 x 1728 Rendering / 30 FPS)
  • PlayStation 5 Prioritize Framerate – (3840 x 2160 Output / 1920 x 1080 Rendering / 60 FPS)
  • Xbox Series X Prioritize Graphics – (3840 x 2160 Output / 3072 x 1728 Rendering / 30 FPS)
  • Xbox Series X Prioritize Framerate – (3840 x 2160 Output / 1920 x 1080 Rendering / 60 FPS)
  • Xbox Series S – (1920 x 1080 Output / 1920 x 1080 Rendering / 30 FPS)
  • Steam – Varies dependent on hardware settings

In addition, Capcom has confirmed that Xbox Series S will be capped at 1920 x 1080 and 30 FPS. Although Series S users have to deal with hardware limitations, this at least gives players a stable game that will allow owners to have a similar experience to those who own the more powerful versions of their console. As many have claimed that Monster Hunter Wilds looks more ambitious by the day, it’s very important for fans who own different platforms to be able to enjoy the game while maintaining highly similar gameplay features.

While Steam players will have the luxury of being flexible as settings will be dependent on the user’s hardware, PlayStation 5 owners will have similar options to the Xbox Series X version of the game. There are high expectations for Monster Hunter Wilds, as all versions of the game will be available in the current generation only. This ensures that all versions will adhere to more current hardware without having to consider many of the limitations from the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 eras of gaming. Fans are looking forward to the title when it releases in early 2025.
